This week venerable cookware company Le Creuset announced a new color for their lineup: Shallot. It’s meant to be a neutral color, a soft pink based on the color of the inside of a shallot. (Shallots are alliums related to onions).
Le Creuset’s cookware pieces are durable heirloom pots, pans and baking dishes made of enameled cast iron. Pieces available in Shallot include a braiser, several sizes and shapes of Dutch ovens, a saucepan, a skillet and also a skillet grill, a bread oven, covered bakers, roasters, casseroles and more. Oh my gosh, they even made an enameled French Press in this color!
I can’t justify buying any of these lovely pink-hued kitchen items – they’re expensive, and my kitchen is blue-themed.. but perhaps I might treat myself to a Shallot-colored mini cocotte!
You can purchase Shallot directly from the Le Creuset website (affiliate link), on Amazon (affiliate link), or from legendary kitchen store Sur la Table (affiliate link).
