I’m saving up to buy a copy of the Le Cordon Bleu Bakery School: 80 Step-By-Step Recipes for Bread and Viennoiseries book (via Amazon; affiliate link). It’s quite expensive – near $80 – so I have thought long and hard about this purchase. I think it’s going to be a great way for me to improve my baking skills.
I have a very busy life (and love it that way) so there’s not much chance I’d have to take serious formal baking classes. Spending this much money on a book makes it more likely for me to follow through with my goal of becoming a better baker. I love the step-by-step photos in some areas of this baking book, and so many of the recipes are for baked goods and breads I’d love to serve in my home on a more regular basis.
This book is basically a textbook that can work as a stand-in for busy people who can’t attend class in person. We’ll be able to work our way through at our own pace.
The book came out in October 2022, published by Grub Street Cookery. It has seven chapters, presenting eighty recipes accompanied by an astonishing number of photographs – 1450!
Recipes you’ll learn to make include:
- Traditional baguette
- Sourdough bread
- Milk rolls
- Focaccia
- Ciabatta
- Pita
- Challah
- Croissants
- Pain au chocolate
- Parisian brioche
- Stollen
- Panettone
- Vanilla flan
- Kouign-Amann
- Galette des rois
- Viennoiseries
Take a look at the Le Cordon Bleu Bakery School cookbook over on Amazon (affiliate link) and hopefully you’ll see me showcasing it soon on the Cookbook Divas YouTube channel!
