One of our very favorite cookbook publishers is Insight Editions. They produce high quality cookbooks on geeky pop-culture and media themes. We’ve practically emptied our wallets shopping for their cookbooks this year. Here are some of our favorite picks for the autumn 2022 cookbook season!

Emily in Paris the Cookbook arrives August 16. It’s based on the Netflix show “Emily in Paris.” Inside, chapters include “Le Bistro; Le Brasserie; Le Restaurant; La Patisserie; Le Cafe; and Les Bases.

The Ghostbusters Cookbook is due out October 25, just in time for Halloween. It features paranormal-inspired recipes, in chapters broken up into “Ethereal Appetizers,” “Manifesting the Mains,” “Spectral Sides,” “Supernatural Sweets,” and “Paranormal Potables.” As you might expect, this cookbook contains a recipe called “Ecto Juice.”

My Pokemon Cookbook will hit store shelves on October 25 as well. Here, recipes have been inspired by Pikachu and friends. This pop culture cookbook organizes its chapters by regions – Konto Region, Hoenn Region, Sinnoh Region, etcetera. The recipe types are wide ranging – roasted cauliflower to tofu lettuce wraps, milk bread and ube flan to strawberry shortcake and Spicy Tropical Curry.

Star Wars: The Padawan Cookbook is another excellent cookbook from Jenn Fujikawa. It’s a cookbook for adults that guides us how to cook with and for kids. Recipes of interest include Grogu’s Avocado Dip, Darth Vader’s Mustafar Fruit Cups, Fruit and Cheese Lightsaber Skewers, and Sith Soupers.

Christmas at the Palace is by Carolyn Robb (former chef to the British royal family.) It’s a delightful small cookbook with chapters arranged by royal residences: Sandringham House (MIni Chocolate & Panettone;) Windsor Castle (Meringue Snowflakes;) Hampton Court Palace (Savory Blue Cheese & Walnut Biscuits;) and Blenheim Palace (Mince Pies.)
