When I visited Japan all I wanted to do was recreate all the dishes I tried, once I got back at home. I’ve made my own Japanese curry, including the roux, but there’s something really special about everything I had in Japan. It’s seems really easy at first until you make one mistake. One small mishap can cause imbalance to the a whole dish. This is why I want to learn how to properly prepare Japanese cuisine without the guesswork!

As I am flipping through the Japanese Food Made Easy cookbook, I am smiling uncontrollably. This truly is a perfect cookbook for those who want to make Japanese food at home. Let me show you what I mean!
This cookbook contains all of our favorites like katsu, ramen, teriyaki; the list goes on. Author Aya Nishimura assures us that we don’t need fancy ingredients that are used in restaurants. All we need is “well selected ingredients and seasonings” to really elevate our cooking!
I really appreciate that the Japanese Food Made Easy cookbook shows us all the essentials for Japanese cooking. Nishimura helps us select key ingredients for our pantries. She has listed all the things you will need on hand such as seasonings, produce, or special flavorings.
Not only do we get a master-list, but also how to make specific Japanese sauces, blends, dressings, even chili mixes. These are things we can store in our refrigerator for future meals that we create! These will be a lot healthier than buying them from the store. Typically premade sauces tend to be very sugary or filled with unnecessary amounts of salt. Now you’ll be able to control all the sugar and salt that goes into all your Japanese foods.

My favorite part about this cookbook is the meal planner. I think that is something that all cookbooks should have. The meal planner is visual and guides us through preparing awesome Japanese feasts. This is a great tool to utilize when wanting to coordinate your ingredients for the week!
I cannot wait to make a four course Japanese meal with the Japanese Food Made Easy cookbook! This will be great to have when we can host parties again. For instance, making over 50 dumplings will only take about 45 minutes. to prep.. can you believe it? Take a look for yourself!
