I have a confession, I am a big Dungeons and Dragons geek! My house usually hosts the games for our friends, so we like to play our game and make a grand feast for us to share at the end of every session. It would be extra fun to cook something more fantasy oriented. I can imagine serving it in between our session to actually mimic a short or long rest.

Two D&D oriented cocktail and cookbooks came out this year that will make life a lot easier and more fun! Heroes’ Feast (Dungeons & Dragons): The Official D&D Cookbook is full of delicious looking meals and cocktails while Düngeonmeister: 75 Epic RPG Cocktail Recipes to Shake Up Your Campaign is exclusively cocktails. Taking a peek through these is going to be a huge delight!
Let’s start with dinner! Heroes’ Feast (Dungeons & Dragons): The Official D&D Cookbook includes 80 D&D inspired recipes that will buff your friends! Whether that means some drinks for extra charisma or a plate of meat for extra strength, this book has every class covered.
This book is filled with traditional art from all the handbooks and photos of the recipes you will be making. As someone who has bookshelves filled with Dungeons and Dragons handbooks, I am thoroughly enjoying the mix of mediums. The food looks incredible and appetizing! Each photo is a glimpse of the table you will be sharing with your fellow party members.
I appreciate the range of difficulty for each recipe in Heroes’ Feast (Dungeons & Dragons): The Official D&D Cookbook. This isn’t your ordinary nerdy greasy fare. A lot of the main courses seem to be fairly healthy! Many of these recipes will quickly become house favorites, like Traveler’s Stew and Sambian Honey Glazed Ribs. There are a few recipes for sweets as well!
Already I am enjoying the Düngeonmeister: 75 Epic RPG Cocktail Recipes to Shake Up Your Campaign cocktail book. I couldn’t believe it when I saw over 70 cocktail recipes to choose from. I am eager to try them all!
My favorite feature of this cocktail book is the art used for each drink. That way they were able to put each beverage in their own fantasy style glass. I enjoy many of the cocktail names they came up with as well.
The instructions are clear and concise for making the perfect beverages before a stressful dungeon crawl. There are recipes for every kind of cocktail drinker you can think of: Fruity, bitter, savory, you name it. Now there’s an excuse to have an apothecary right in your household. Not only can you be dungeon master, but keeper of the booze!
Both Heroes’ Feast (Dungeons & Dragons): The Official D&D Cookbook and Düngeonmeister: 75 Epic RPG Cocktail Recipes to Shake Up Your Campaign are exquisite recipe books for your fellow nerdy friends! Either would make a fantastic gift this holiday season or a birthday! Hopefully we can get together to feast and slay beasts, soon!
