There’s a new show for cookbook lovers on The Roku Channel this month, “Clash of the Cookbooks.”
It stars YouTube sensation Max Miller, author of the “Tasting History” cookbook. He’s joined by comedian Phoebe Robinson.
Join comedian Phoebe Robinson and cookbook author and culinary historian Max Miller as they put cookbook-obsessed chefs to the test with legendary cookbook-inspired challenges. Cookbooks are the cornerstone of how the average person has learned to cook for hundreds of years, testing the technical and creative skills of home cooks. In this competition, chefs from across the country take recipes from the page to the plate by cooking from history’s greatest and the world’s toughest cookbooks.
You can watch the show on The Roku Channel on your TV, or via your Roku account on the web.
Episodes include:
Phoebe and Max challenge the competing chefs to execute recipes from two fine dining cookbooks. First, the chefs re-create opulent cookbook recipes from the Titanic’s fateful voyage over 100 years ago. Then they prepare recipes from an elegant, modern-day Moroccan cookbook, to prove who has both the technique and the immaculate presentation skills to pull off an elaborate five-star meal.
Phoebe and Max challenge the competing chefs to execute cookbook recipes inspired by royalty. First, the chefs must decipher and then prepare historic centuries-old recipes from three English royal cookbooks. Then they are challenged to cook a meal fit for The King, putting their spin on an iconic Elvis Presley-inspired cookbook recipe, to show whose skills reign supreme.
