New Food-Related Shows Coming to TV This Summer

Here are the upcoming new food-related TV shows we’re looking forward to this summer 2024.

Apple TV+ just announced “Omnivore,” a documentary series by NOMA chef René Redzepi.

Each episode will focus on one of eight of the world’s most important ingredients:

  • Bananas
  • Chiles
  • Coffee
  • Corn
  • Pork
  • Rice
  • Salt
  • Tuna

We’ll learn how the ingredients are grown, transformed, and eaten. Through the series, we’ll visit countries including Bali, Denmark, France, India, Japan, Peru, South Korea, Spain, and more.

If you’re a subscriber of Apple TV+, add “Omnivore” to your watchlist here.

The documentary series premieres beginning July 19, 2024.

Over on The CW, “The Big Bakeover” premieres on June 14, 2024. Lifelong baker (and GBBO Season 5 winner) Nancy Birtwhistle travels to struggling bakeries, helps them revamp their recipes, freshen their storefronts and save their businesses.

The FYI network isn’t very good at updating their website, so I wanted to let you know they will premiere a new series “Rachael Ray in Tuscany” on June 24. FYI is part of the A&E network.

On Magnolia Network, “Getting Lost with Erin French” premieres on June 23, 2024. Her previous show was “The Lost Kitchen.”

Learn more about Erin French at her “The Lost Kitchen” website and Instagram.

On Food Network, “The Next Baking Master: Paris” premiered in May 2024. There are ten episodes total. Hosts Stephanie Boswell and Ludo Lefebvre supervise ten bakers as they vie for the title of “The Next Baking Master.”

On Disney, Hulu and ABC, you can watch “World Eats Bread,” a docuseries that travels the globe in search of the people who make, and eat, bread. The first episode, “Sourdough in San Francisco” already premiered in June 2024, with more episodes to follow featuring Pide in Turkey and tortillas in Guatemala.
