The first cookbook is “Nosh: Plant-Forward Recipes Celebrating Modern Jewish Cuisine,” by Micah Siva. It will hit bookshelves on March 5, 2024.
Nosh features more than 80 plant-based recipes for everyday, Shabbat and holidays. We’re given options for low-effort dishes when we don’t have much time, or high-effort dishes that will take more time. (Love that!)
Peeking inside the Amazon preview pages, I see recipes for Poppy Seed, Potato and Caramelized Onion Kreplach; Smashed Cucumber Dill Salad; and a Savory Pulled Mushroom and Tofu “Brisket” I’m dying to try making! There’s a Classic One-Bowl Challah recipe that will surely come in handy.
Visit Micah Siva’s website here and shop for the new cookbook on Amazon here.
Also, The Collective Book Studio is publishing “A Taste of the World: Celebrating Global Flavors” by Rowena Scherer (February 27, 2024).
This book is designed for families with kids to cook together and try new flavors from other global traditions. It includes 60 family friendly recipes, including (from what I can see from Amazon and Edelweiss’s previews) recipes for Salmon or Chicken Teriyaki with Sauteed Spinach and Rice; Lettuce-Wrapped Ginger Meatballs with Rice and Bok Choy; and Kofta Meatball Curry with Naan Bread with Sauteed Cabbage.
Chapters include:
- Explore Asia – Japan, China, India, Singapore, South Korea
- Explore Europe – France, Greece, Italy, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom
- Explore Africa’s Middle East – Ethiopia, Kenya, Morocco, Lebanon, Israel
- Explore the Americas – Brazil, Mexico, Peru, Northern USA, Southern USA
Visit Rowena Scherer’s “Eat to Explore” website and Instagram.
We’ll share and preview these two new cookbooks as soon as we can!
