Today we’ve been researching the wonderful upcoming Spring 2025 cookbooks coming out from Hardie Grant.

The Beauty Chef: 150 Gluten- and Dairy-Free Recipes for Radiant Skin, Gut Health and Wellbeing, by Carla Oates (February 24, 2025)

This is the second edition of this health conscious cookbook. Most of the 150 recipes are gluten-free and mostly dairy free. Chapters include Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks, Dinners, Sides, Desserts, Baking, Drinks, and Basics.

The Complete Illustrated Guide to Japanese Cooking: Techniques, Ingredients & Recipes, by Sachiyo Harada (March 11, 2025)

This cookbook offers step-by-step photos and illustrations teaching us how to cut fish and chicken, and how to make sushi, sashimi, tempura, onigiri, ramen and Japanese desserts. I’m a visual learner and really benefit from step-by-step photos, so I am looking forward to this one a lot.

Dal Chawal: 85 Vegetarian Indian Recipes Combining the Power of Dal and Rice, by Sapna Punjabi (April 8, 2025)

Who doesn’t love classic Indian comfort food? This cookbook by a nutritionist and Ayurvedic practitioner is full of plant-based, vegetarian friendly recipes. Besides the chapters of recipes on combining rice and dal, there are chapters on masalas, chutneys and digestive drinks.

The Food of Bharat: A Chef’s Journey through India’s Rich Culinary History, by Helly Raichura (March 25, 2025)

This Indian cookbook features chapters on the pre-Vedic and post-Vedic eras; trade and migration; the Mughal invasion; colonisation; and modern India. There are also cook’s notes, tips for feasts, and meal suggestions.

I Want to Eat Pasta: Over 90 Easy Pasta Recipes Using 10 Ingredients or Less, by Giovanna Torrico (March 18, 2025)

I absolutely love pasta, and I want to eat it too! This cookbook offers a quicker way to get a pasta dinner on the table – every recipe can be finished in 20 minutes or less.

Kapusta: Vegetable-Forward Recipes from Eastern Europe, by Alissa Timoshkina (February 25, 2025)

This is a much talked about cookbook that generated a lot of excitement on CookbookTok, CookbookTube and Cookbookstagram! Chapters are organized by ingredient, such as cabbage, beetroot, potato, mushrooms, carrots, etc.

Last Minute Brunch Party: Over 100 Inspiring Dishes to Feed Family and Friends at a Moment’s Notice, by Amelia Wasiliev (March 11, 2025)

I love hosting brunches at my home, and perhaps this cookbook will help me host them far more often! There are recipes for batching your breakfast foods quantities, such as Breakfast Sausage Casserole, Skillet Pan Pancakes and brunch boards. I’m super excited for this new cookbook!

The Little Book of Chocolate: Cakes and Pastries: Make Your Own Baked Goods at Home, by Melanie Dupuis (March 11, 2025)

This small and darling book teaches basic recipes such as Chocolate Chip Cookies, and also fancier bakes like Paris-Brest Cake. Take a look at the many lovely cookbooks this author has written, by the way!

Lunch Well: 85 Recipes to Bring a Little Spark To the Midday Meal, by Fern Green (April 15, 2025)

This make-ahead lunch book shows you how to make lunches to pack that take 15 minutes or less; budget-friendly meals; meal prep tips; plus tips on building and organizing your pantry to make lunch planning easier. There’s also a section on food waste and using up leftovers.

Pakistan: Recipes and Stories from Home Kitchens, Restaurants, and Roadside Stands,” by Maryam Jillani (March 25, 2025)

This cookbook teaches us the history of Pakistan’s immigration and trade routes which influenced its regional cuisines. The chapters include Raitas, Relishes & Chutneys; Street Food & Snacks; Vegetables & Legumes; Fish & Seafood; Meat & Poultry; Bread & Rice; Sweets; Drinks.

Pranzo: Sicilian(ish) Recipes & Stories, by Guy Mirabella (March 25, 2025)

I happen to obsess over Italian cookbooks, and I can’t wait to add this one to my overloaded cookbook shelves. The chapters are ordered by season, beginning with summer. The food is rustic and seasonal, and this cookbook is notable for its attention to design and beautiful photographs of Sicily.

Stay for Supper: Laid-back Vegetarian Food to Share, by Xanthe Gladstone (April 15, 2025)

I don’t cook exclusively from vegetarian cookbooks, but I’m always eager to explore a new one, especially if it’s a dinner cookbook. Contents include Things on Toast; Soups & Stews; Mains; Salads; Sides & Condiments; and Puddings. (That last one is how you can tell this is a book from the UK!)

3 Doughs, 60 Recipes: Focaccia, Pizza, Sandwich Bread – Easy-to-master Doughs and Delicious Ways to Enjoy Them, by Lacey Ostermann (March 24, 2025)

I love cookbooks like this – take a bare few ingredients and turn them into dozens and dozens of different recipes! This cookbook was especially written for people with little experience baking bread.  Chapters include Focaccia, Sandwich Bread, and Pizza.

The Very Hungry Celiac: All the foods you love made GLUTEN-FREE, by Melanie Persson (April 1, 2025)

Here’s a cookbook I want to surprise Kaiti with! Inside, she’ll find 75 recipes for tasty gluten-free foods, including pasta, ramen, cake and pastries!

Snacking Dinners: 50+ Recipes for Low-Lift, High-Reward Dinners That Delight by Georgia Freedman (April 8, 2025)

This new cookbook features “small meals that are all delight and no fuss.” Sounds sort of like Girl Dinner to me and I’m here for it! In fact, tonight I just had pita and hummus for dinner, with a few olives on the side, and that was heaven. Chapters include Fresh & Fast Snacks; Pantry Snacks; Classic Snacks & Variations; Pre-Ahead Snacks; and Splurgy Snacks. I see a gorgeous photo spread of “Meal-Worthy Toast.” Yum!
