Phaidon Press’s New Cookbooks Coming out in Spring 2025

Here are the wonderful new cookbooks coming out soon for Spring 2025 from Phaidon.

Barbecue: Smoked & Grilled Recipes From Across the Globe, by by Hugh Mangum and Shana Liebman (May 15, 2025)

A guide to cooking with fire and smoke. The cookbook has 280 recipes for grilling and barbecuing recipes. Besides the grilled meat recipes, the cookbook thankfully includes meat-free mains. There are also recipes for sides like cornbread, baked beans, casseroles, pickles, and desserts.

Breakfast, Lunch, Tea with Children: Rose Bakery, by Rose Carrarini and Marissa-Catherine Carrarini (March 6, 2025)

The founder of the Rose Bakery in Paris shares 50 recipes to prepare with your children. There are recipes for sweet treats, of course, plus breakfasts and dinners. The cookbook includes gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian recipes.

China: The Cookbook, by Kei Lum Chan and Diora Fong Chan (February 13, 2025)

This massive and important cookbook presents 650 authentic Chinese recipes for home cooks. It’s a definitive and authoritative cookbook of regional Chinese cuisine. There are recipes from the eight major regions of China, then the twelve minor regions; plus recipes from Chinese chefs around the world.

The Regional Italian Cookbook: Recipes from The Silver Spoon, by The Silver Spoon Kitchen (April 10, 2025)

This Italian cookbook presents recipes from Italy’s 20 distinct regions, each with their own culture and culinary traditions. From the North (Piedmont, Liguria, Lombardy, etc) to the Center (Tuscany, Umbria, etc) then to the Islands (Sicily and Sardinia) and then on to recipes from the South (Abruzza, Basilicata, Puglia, Calabria and more).

The Spanish Mediterranean Islands Cookbook, by Jeff Koehler (March 13, 2025)

I need to read up more on geography, because I’d never heard of Spain’s Balearic Islands (other than Ibiza). Their names are Formentera, Mallorca, Menorca, and Ibiza, and this new cookbook presents 155 recipes for home cooked dishes from these cuisines. The dishes are mainly Mediterranean style, using garlic, olive oil, rice and fish plus fantastic local produce. 

Sunny Days, Taco Nights by Enrique Olvera and Alonso Ruvalcaba (May 22, 2025)

A taco cookbook with 100 recipes from restaurateur and chef Enrique Olvera. There are street tacos classic recipes from different Mexican regions, and new inventive taco creations as well.
