One More Holiday Cookbook to Put on Your List! The Advent German Baking Christmas Cookbook

I have always wanted to travel to Europe during the holidays. Germany is my first pick for numerous reasons. My best friend lives there, so we can celebrate Christmas together. Also, the gorgeous architecture and snowy landscape make Germany the perfect place to celebrate the holidays.

Christmas at my stepmom’s house was always an ordeal. Her German roots would shine on the holidays. She would lay a massive cookie spread on the table and we would feast on a large roast. I’ve always been curious about Christmas in Germany.

I can gain more insights on a traditional German Christmas with this brand new cookbook: “Advent: Festive German Bakes to Celebrate the Coming of Christmas.”

As you can see, the Advent: Festive German Bakes to Celebrate the Coming of Christmas cookbook is gorgeous. The packaging fills me with Christmas cheer! The inside is just as festive.

There are over 100 beautiful German bakes in this cookbook! All of these are traditional baked goods you will find in Germany. That includes Christmas cookie classics like thumbprint cookies, macaroons, and buttery biscuit cookies. You will even find delicious treats that you can use as decorations, too!

Other recipes include:

  • Potato Cakes
  • Rich Fruit Loaf
  • Poppyseed Stollen
  • Spiced Almond Lebkuchen
  • Chocolate and Vanilla Shortbread

I can’t believe there are so many festive German bakes for the holidays! This cookbook encompasses only baked treats, so you won’t find recipes for roasts or other Christmas dinner ideas.

I think the Advent: Festive German Bakes to Celebrate the Coming of Christmas cookbook has a little too many chapters. There are 24 chapters with only 3 to 5 recipes beneath each.

I enjoy that we get both the German and English names for each recipe!

Hopefully this cookbook will come in handy for those of you who are still deciding what to do for Christmas!
