Bryan Senkine

I indulge in eating sushi a few times a month. It is a guilty pleasure! I would love to find ways of making sushi at home and vegan. That way, it is healthier and guilt-free. Vegan and Vegetarian Sushi Cookbook for Beginners: 50 Step-by-Step Recipes for Plant-Based Rolls features a variety of vegan and vegetarian recipes. This includes maki, temaki, sashimi, chirashi, and much more.

Luckily, there are step-by-step instructions to ensure your sushi comes out perfectly! Plus, there is a list of pantry essentials you will want to have on hand!

There are five chapters in this cookbook:

  1. Vegan and Vegetarian Sushi
  2. Setting Up for Sushi Success
  3. Maki (Rolls) and Temaki (Hand Rolls)
  4. Sashimi, Chirashi, Nigiri, Inari, and Other Sushi
  5. Sides and Sauces

There are 50 recipes with clear directions for success. I am really excited to attempt the Dynamite Sushi Tower!

For me, sushi-making can be intimidating. This is mostly because I don’t know how to handle raw fish properly. I’m hoping I can get all the yummy flavor with vegan ingredients!

More Than Veggies: Asian Favourites Made Plant-based

Joy Yuan

Can you imagine making some of your meaty Asian favorites, but plant-based? The More Than Veggies: Asian Favourites Made Plant-based cookbook will show you how.

You’ll find favorite recipes such as:

  • Tempeh Rendang
  • Tempeh Bak Kwa
  • Tom Yum Fried Quinoa
  • Okinomiyaki
  • Char Siu Tempeh

There are icons throughout the More Than Veggies: Asian Favourites Made Plant-based cookbook to symbolize what kind of dish it is. This includes being gluten-free, dairy-free, and nut-free. This makes cooking very simple when dealing with multiple ailments!

You will see the yield for each recipe, but no time indicated. This is something I wish they provided because I always feel like I am under time constraints!

The photography is bright and beautiful. One of my favorite features of this cookbook is the illustrations on the side of the page for difficult dishes. Now we will be able to visualize each step to take!
