Can I Mix You a Drink?

T-Pain + Maxwell Britten

Naturally, I want to start with beverages. Can I Mix You a Drink? is a lovely cocktail book created by the brilliant minds of T-Pain and Maxwell Britten. It combines sophistication with party culture. Yes, it is possible!

The overall design of this cookbook is fabulous. The cover is embossed in gold, featuring T-Pain’s face. Inside there are jet-black pages that make the drinks pop against the background!

This cocktail book has over 125 pages worth of amazing party drinks. Can I Mix You a Drink? is simply organized by “Introduction”, “Dranks”, and “Acknowledgements”. They get straight to the point, plus it is more bang for your buck.

I’ve never seen a Dixie cup as a vessel for an elegant cocktail. It’s very clever!

Almost every recipe is named after T-Pain’s Grammy-winning songs. Some examples are:

  • Darkskin Debarge
  • 1Up
  • I’m Sprung
  • Shawty

This cocktail book isn’t exclusive to T-Pain lovers. Maxwell Britten is an award-winning hospitality professional and has worked in the field for over 15 years. These beverages are unique additions to anyone’s cocktail bookshelf.

Ottolenghi Test Kitchen: Shelf Love: Recipes to Unlock the Secrets of Your Pantry, Fridge, and Freezer: A Cookbook

Noor Murad + Yotam Ottolenghi

Ottolenghi is the man I go to when I want to create tasty vegetables. His cookbooks are timeless! Head author, Noor Murad, has been a part of the Ottolenghi team for over 4 years. I am very excited to see what is in store for us this season.

The Ottolenghi Test Kitchen: Shelf Love: Recipes to Unlock the Secrets of Your Pantry, Fridge, and Freezer cookbook provides ordinary home cooks Middle Eastern-inspired recipes they can put dinner on the table with less stress.

You’ll find chapters that will resonate with most home cooks.

  • The Freezer Is Your Friend
  • That One Shelf in the Back of Your Pantry
  • Who Does the Dishes?” (a.k.a. One-Pot Meals)
  • Fridge Raid

Genuinely, these recipes are approachable for every day of the week. There are big flavors, veggie-forward appeal, and diverse influences. There is still room to give you a creative outlet.

I am looking forward to trying recipes such as All-the-Herbs Dumplings with Caramelized Onions, Mac and Cheese with Za’atar Pesto, Cacio e Pepe Chickpeas, and Crispy Spaghetti and Chicken.

One special feature in the Ottolenghi Test Kitchen: Shelf Love: Recipes to Unlock the Secrets of Your Pantry, Fridge, and Freezer: A Cookbook is how to make it your own. They’ve had given us a section where we can add our ingredients or suggestions for each recipe.

I haven’t found a Middle Eastern cookbook that fits my cooking style, so I cannot wait to try Ottolenghi Test Kitchen: Shelf Love: Recipes to Unlock the Secrets of Your Pantry, Fridge, and Freezer.

Ramsay in 10

Gordon Ramsay

Gordon Ramsay is one of my favorite chefs. I pretend that I should sign up for Hell’s Kitchen, but I know he will make me cry! That’s why I prefer taking his cookbook home and avoiding the harsh criticism!

Gordon has graciously gifted us 100 new and delicious recipes inspired by his YouTube series. Does this man ever sleep?

Can you believe that Gordon has created a cookbook full of recipes that take only 10 minutes? I’ll be frank with you – I don’t believe it. I will do A Review on our Cookbook Divas YouTube channel when I get my hands on it.

Gordon states, “When I’m shooting ‘Ramsay in 10’, I’m genuinely full of excitement and energy because I get to show everyone how to really cook with confidence. It doesn’t matter if it takes you 10 minutes, 12 minutes, or even 15 minutes, to me, it’s about sharing my 25 years of knowledge, expertise, and hands-on experience, to make everyone feel like better, happier cooks.”

The chapters he lists are:

  1. Egg and Cheese
  2. Pasta, Rice, and Noodles
  3. Chicken and Duck
  4. Beef, Lamb, and Pork
  5. Fish and Seafood
  6. Vegetarian and Vegan
  7. Desserts

I am surprised to see alternatives for his recipes. There are gluten-free, vegan, dairy-free, and vegetarian options!

Rebel Homemaker: Food, Family, Life

Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore is a gem. She is adorable and charming. I’m so excited to take a peek into her life with the Rebel Homemaker: Food, Family, Life cookbook.

If you’ve ever watched the Drew Barrymore Show you’ll know how wholesome she is! There are some recipes in this cookbook you will find on her show.

In Rebel Homemaker: Food, Family, Life there are 36 yummy recipes that she developed along with chef and friend Pilar Valdes. You will find recipes for Sweet Potato Florentine, Soft-Scrambled Yuzu Kosho Eggs, Harissa Spaghetti, and more.

This is more than just a cookbook. Drew shares personal stories about how she fell in love with her kitchen and cooking. She planted a garden, raised her first chickens, and most of all slowed down. We get some insight into Drew’s day-to-day! Nature has become her mentor and she reminds us to be present.

Chaos can be beautiful! I can use a reminder like this daily.

Which one of these celebrity cookbooks are you going to get for a loved one?
