Some of us come home from a long day of work to wind down with a nice Hallmark movie. For me, I turn on the show “Nailed It!” on Netflix. The host, Nicole Byers, makes me laugh like no other. Jacques Torres is probably the sweetest man on the planet (it helps that he’s a pastry chef and chocolatier.) The contestants are good-natured and take their baking challenge with lots of humor.

When I saw that I could take these trials home with Nailed It!: Baking Challenges for the Rest of Us cookbook, I knew I had to get it. We can have our own “Nailed It!” contests at home!
I love what Jacques Torres says in his foreword of the Nailed It!: Baking Challenges for the Rest of Us cookbook. “The first thing you must know about this book is that it is not just for making terrible messes… just like the show is not about making fun of failure. Not at all. It’s about having fun while failing, which makes the failing part fun.”
This is a great message for all of us! At some point, we will fail at something. In this case, it’s baking! I like that it doesn’t have to be this traumatic experience while navigating this cookbook. It encourages us to have fun and be okay with not being perfect!
Just like in the show, all the recipes are broken down in clear steps. New bakers will have an easy time making these elaborate creations.
Unfortunately, I don’t see how many recipes there are in the Nailed It!: Baking Challenges for the Rest of Us cookbook. The recipes I do see list the correlating season and episode number right below! Now we can turn on our TVs and cook alongside previous contestants.
This cookbook is divided into six simple chapters.
- Work It!
- Door #1
- Door #2
- Nailed It! Holidays
- Donut You Dare
- How to Host a Nailed It! Party
I am already trying to come up with dates to have a Nailed It! Party!
There are tips and tricks throughout this cookbook that judges have provided. That even includes a “Panic button” for additional help if you run into any snags while baking. Trust me, you’re in good hands with this cookbook.
What are some of your favorite Nailed It! Mishaps?
