3 Strictly Tequila Cocktail Books For Summer Nights

My husband and I were lucky enough to take an impromptu trip to Mexico to celebrate his success not too long ago. We love a mix of relaxation and adventure, so of course, we had to try all kinds of tequila while we were there. This was an inspirational experience!

We managed to find some tequila we really enjoyed and were able to bring it back to share with friends and family. Now I am realizing that we don’t have very many cocktail books designated for tequila drinking. That’s why I have created a list of tequila cookbooks for all of us to enjoy this summer!

Mezcal and Tequila Cocktails: Mixed Drinks for the Golden Age of Agave [A Cocktail Recipe Book]

Robert Simonson writes about cocktails, spirits, bars, and bartenders for the New York Times. He knows his stuff when it comes to different kinds of spirits! That’s why I am really excited to dive into Mezcal and Tequila Cocktails: Mixed Drinks for the Golden Age of Agave [A Cocktail Recipe Book.]

He keeps it brief and to the point – which I appreciate. If you’re learning about tequila and mezcal, Simonson breaks it down simply. He lists the recipes you will find up front with the associated page in the table of contents. It’s divided into tequila cocktails, mezcal cocktails, and cocktails with both spirits.

Another thing they’ve given newbie tequila and mezcal drinkers is a guide! If you enjoy classic cocktails (without tequila), Simonson offers a tequila alternative. This includes a Manhattan, mezcal mule, and more.

There are over 60 recipes in Mezcal and Tequila Cocktails: Mixed Drinks for the Golden Age of Agave. Some examples are a “Texican Egg Nog,” Mezcal Margarita, and a Spicy Paloma. Lots of the recipes are very simple and elegant, perfect for long summer night gatherings with loved ones!

One of my favorite sections in this cookbook is the recipes for syrups, infusions, and salt blends to give your cocktails extra glamour.

The photography is stunning. Each beverage glows on the page! This is a fantastic cocktail cookbook for both beginner and experienced mixologists.

Tarot & Tequila: A Tarot Guide with Cocktails (Sugar Skull Tarot Series)

Fall and Halloween are quickly approaching, so that’s why I wanted to talk about Tarot & Tequila: A Tarot Guide with Cocktails (Sugar Skull Tarot Series) cocktail book. It’s perfect for the cold season ahead!

The concept is so unique and fun, both Carrie and I have to own it!

There is a guide for tarot and tequila which includes basic tools, ingredients, techniques, guidebook(for tarot) and tarot cards.

In the tarot guidebook we see the basic tarot definition of the card right-side up and upside down, but also the tequila definition! This is a very hilarious guidebook that will make you laugh even if you draw a negative card!

I love the idea of being able to pick a random card from the deck and make whatever tequila beverage the spirits have deemed appropriate! All 40 of the major arcana cards have a recipe associated with it (The Fool, the Empress, The Lovers, etc.)

The art in this cookbook is absolutely stunning! The sugar skulls that decorate the cards and book are breathtaking. It definitely reminds me of Dia de los Muertos!

This would make an excellent gift for any spooky loved one in your life!

The Little Book of Tequila: Shot to Perfection

Did you know that tequila consumption has been on the rise? It has surpassed vodka and whiskey! If you look through The Little Book of Tequila: Shot to Perfection you will learn a lot about this amazing spirit!

Throughout this book there are bits of history, quotes about tequila from celebrities, and cocktails!

This cookbook has 6 chapters…

Chapter 1: Worth A Shot
Chapter 2: Three Tequila Floor
Chapter 3: Scorpion Honey
Chapter 4: Tequila Sunrise
Chapter 5: Agave My Heart to Tequila
Chapter 6: Santiago de Tequila

Tequila is beyond shot glasses with salt and a lime, but can be consumed with champagne flutes. Learn the best parts of tequila with this cookbook!

Take a sip, relax, and enjoy summertime with any one of these tequila cookbooks!
