3 Frozen Dessert Cookbooks Released in Spring 2021!

Who would scream for ice cream? I sure would! Already, I am feeling the weather start to warm up here in the PNW. Before I know it, I will want to find ways of surviving those heat wave days. One of my favorite methods is by eating a delicious frozen dessert!

I remember when I was a teenager, having my first homemade ice cream cake. My half sister is lucky enough to have her birthday dead center of summer and this was in southern Colorado with no air-conditioning. I didn’t believe my stepmom when she said she could make ice cream cake at home. Thankfully, she proved me wrong, and ever since, I have always loved experimenting with frozen desserts. To be honest, they’ve been fairly elementary, but fun.

You would think whipping up anything during the heat would sound unappealing, but the anticipation of eating the dessert afterward always keeps me going. I really want to check out these three frozen dessert cookbooks to expand on my list. At the very least to make it prettier!

Ice Cream Party: Mix and Match to Create 3,375 Decadent Combinations

I think my one weakness is ice cream. My stepdad was very into ice cream when we were growing up. We would always have a gallon or two in the freezer, so that’s probably where my obsession comes from. Looking through the Ice Cream Party: Mix and Match to Create 3,375 Decadent Combinations cookbook gives me so many ice cream ideas already.

I’ve never seen a format like the one presented in this cookbook. There are three flippable sections in this cookbook, meaning each page is divided into thirds. This is so you can randomize your toppings and ice cream flavors and never get bored. There are 45 recipes with endless mixing options at your disposal.

This cookbook is useful for kids and adults alike, plus it offers so many flavor options I would never have even considered without this cookbook. Examples of these are buttery biscuits and peanut butter brittle – yum!

Each recipe is simple and don’t require a lot of ingredients. This is perfect if you want to have mini crafting stations baking or assembling all the different recipes! Not only can everyone enjoy their creations when they are finished, but also a fun activity to do with friends and family.

Normally I would rather have large photos in my cookbooks, but I am thoroughly enjoying how Ice Cream Party: Mix and Match to Create 3,375 Decadent Combinations cookbook is illustrated. The colors are vibrant and each section artfully indicates what ingredients are in which recipe. It’s very cute!

Pick up this cookbook if you love ice cream and want to expand on your dessert library!

Super Vegan Scoops!: Plant-Based Ice Cream for Everyone

Since I do have an ice cream obsession, when I went vegan, I thought all was lost. I honestly had no idea how I was going to be able to satiate my frozen dessert craving until I had coconut ice cream. It was arguably tastier than most ice creams I have had. It isn’t too heavy, still sweet and refreshing, just as creamy – I was floored.

I am trying to maintain a mostly plant-based diet and the Super Vegan Scoops!: Plant-Based Ice Cream for Everyone cookbook is going to come in handy. Not just for me, but for my other vegan loved ones too!

What I appreciate most about this cookbook is that it has a whole array of flavors and recipes to choose from. There are dishes from peppermint bark logs, to creamed cookies, and confetti cake batter birthday cake. Now we can learn about the various ways to use ice cream that is more than just a sundae! This includes using melted ice cream, which is really clever. This cookbook can be used for more than hot days. Of course the bonus is that everything is 100% vegan.

The recipes are easy and Super Vegan Scoops!: Plant-Based Ice Cream for Everyone cookbook has even provided no churning methods for most of their dessert options. That means there is no need for extra appliances!

This is a fairly big cookbook, covering over 300 pages of delightful vegan content. Many recipes come with amazing full page colored photos. Everything is eye candy!

Most of all, I think the different names are appealing enough to look through. Some flavors are so unique, such as Baklava Sundae or Sweet Heat Chipotle Pecan Ice Cream, that the only option is to make it.

I can’t wait to utilize these recipes for all year around. Don’t forget to check out author Hannah Kaminsky’s vegan blog where you can try more of her recipes at Bitter Sweet Blog.

Aguas Frescas & Paletas: Refreshing Mexican Drinks and Frozen Treats, Traditional and Reimagined

I was just telling my husband that I could have Mexican food every day during summertime. The flavors are always so bold, refreshing, and fantastic on a summer’s day! I can’t wait to expand my list of food and drink to consume with the Aguas Frescas & Paletas: Refreshing Mexican Drinks and Frozen Treats, Traditional and Reimagined cookbook.

This cookbook has forty easy mouthwatering recipes that are going to quench your summer cravings! There is a recipe for a frozen horchata popsicle and for cantaloupe coolers – tasty! The flavors are out of this world and include flowery, savory, refreshing citrus, warming, and sweet – a taste for any kind of day.

The Aguas Frescas & Paletas: Refreshing Mexican Drinks and Frozen Treats, Traditional and Reimagined cookbook is extremely lively and colorful. I can already feel myself getting pumped up by looking through the various photos! On a sluggish day, sometimes a refreshing beverage or a cooling dessert is all you need to regain your energy!

These recipes are authentically Mexican and showcase many of the culture’s techniques and flavors in this cookbook! I love how they talk about what aqua frescas and paletas are, because many of us have never heard of them.

Rather than relying on store bought freezer pops or processed soda, we can make these things at home.

I can’t wait for the warm weather and the delightful treats that come with it! What are some of your cherished summer desserts?
