Unapologetically Vulgar Cookbook: “Bad Manners: The Official Cookbook: Eat Like You Give a F*ck: A Vegan Cookbook”

I remember the first time my family and I went to a fancy dinner together after I was diagnosed with Celiac. At that time, there were only a few (if any) menu items that were gluten-free. As a family, we always eat family style and the serving sizes at this restaurant were minuscule. I recall everyone digging into my food to the point where I only had 2 bites for dinner. I was beside myself, thinking “What the $#!@?” My husband and I went out to eat again right afterward.

Now, I laugh at this experience and am better prepared – especially at parties! But I know I’m not alone – lots of people with dietary restrictions have stories like mine!

The Bad Manners: The Official Cookbook: Eat Like You Give a F*ck: A Vegan Cookbook talks about this exact problem and provides a solution (yay!) Let’s dive into this hilarious book and find out.

Why serve a million different dishes to accommodate different restrictions, when you can cook all plant-based and still make it yummy? Carnivores and dairy lovers will be in awe by your amazing cooking skills while you utilize this cookbook! Now, no one will be left out… unless there are people that can’t eat plants. The Bad Manners: The Official Cookbook: Eat Like You Give a F*ck: A Vegan Cookbook is built on this premise.

Obviously, this cookbook has no filter. I like it, because it isn’t insulting. This cookbook is actually quite encouraging, saying things like “you did that S#!t, not us, own it!” It feels like you’re cooking with a friend who is incredibly passionate about plant-based foods.

I really enjoy the introduction to plant-based cooking for this cookbook. Not only is it brutally honest about our poor eating habits, but it teaches us how to eat better. This includes a list of tools you should have on hand, pantry essentials, and even cooking times. I am absolutely in love with how they’ve broken down different complex carbs (beans, brown rice, quinoa) that we can cook with as well.

Most of all, they provide the knowledge to fly out of the nest and experiment with plant-based foods on our own.

The recipes range from breakfast through lunch, to dinner, appetizers, and more. The dishes are easy to create and assemble! Once you have the basic pantry finished, it’ll be really easy to find the fresh produce to complete each dish.

One myth about plant-based dishes is that they are complicated and take forever to complete. The Bad Manners: The Official Cookbook: Eat Like You Give a F*ck: A Vegan Cookbook destroys that misconception. It has recipes that don’t require a lot of time. Some dishes need an hour max, but most of them range from 20-40 minutes and are super healthy!

Since this cookbook has a focus on making tasty foods for everyone at big get-togethers, there are a lot of party classics listed. Imagine being able to make mouthwatering vegan tacos, grilled sandwiches, and chili for your guests. I’d love to see if anyone notices that nothing has meat in it!

If you have a sailor’s mouth, enjoy cooking, and want to cook plant-based meals, Bad Manners: The Official Cookbook: Eat Like You Give a F*ck: A Vegan Cookbook is perfect for you. I know that I have a kinship with this book, so it is next on my to buy list!
