I don’t know about you, but I absolutely LOVE Nadiya! When she baked that amazing peacock cake on “The Great British Bake Off” in season 6, I knew she would win. Not only is she an amazing baker, but absolutely charming and down-to-earth! She stole my heart… so this is why I must talk about her newest cookbook: Time to Eat: Delicious Meals for Busy Lives (via Amazon; affiliate link.) If you are at all a fan of the Netflix show “Time to Eat”, you can now have those recipes at your fingertips!
Most of us are almost exclusively at home these days. You would think that would allow us more time for cooking, but it is surprisingly hectic! With school being remote and parents juggling time between work, homeschooling, and entertaining, cooking can be the last thing on our minds. Even if you are unfamiliar with this show, Nadiya has composed 100 easy, family friendly recipes for busy lives. A lot of these recipes look complicated, but are actually very simple and fun.
When I say easy, I mean it. The book is broken down into Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, etc., rather than “Meat, salad, soup”. I’ll think in terms of “lunch” but am always hung up on if I should have a salad or soup or a main course… I’ll get frustrated and just not eat because I can’t decide the basics. Nadiya makes it easy: I can flip to the “lunch” section and be done with it.
There are plenty of recipes that can be frozen for meals in the future, so if you have time to make a huge batch, freeze it to save yourself later! There are even ICONS in the book to indicate if it can be doubled, frozen, or made for later – easy! In addition, the photos are bright and beautiful. Now I can see if everything looks right. (I’m a sucker for good photos!)
Nadiya is truly a godsend – this may be the most stress free cookbook I’ve ever come across. I’m excited to get my hands on this book as soon as it comes out. Hopefully this will help with some meal planning anxiety!
