Delicious Vegetarian Cookbook Greenfeast: Autumn, Winter

Transitioning to the cold season has been difficult to say the least. I think my cats are having a hard time as well. I’m trying to incorporate some healthier, but fall/winter seasonal foods into my diet lately.

I was happy to stumble upon Greenfeast: Autumn, Winter: [A Cookbook], (via Amazon; affiliate link) because the recipes are simple and perfect for the cold season.

There are 110 autumnal and winter recipes perfect for those who want to eat less meat, but who don’t want to compromise on flavor. These dishes are all mostly plant-based, but are filling and scrumptious. Everything looks incredibly fancy, but all of these dishes use very easy ingredients.

What I enjoy most is that they provide a plant-based guide for those who wish to eat with the seasons. The more plant-based we want to be, the more we realize we have to learn about what plants are even available certain times of the year!

Even though this is mostly plant-based, it is truly a vegetarian cookbook. There are still recipes that use various cheeses and starchy foods. This book is a great introduction to plant based and going meatless, even though that isn’t solely the purpose of Greenfeast: Autumn, Winter: [A Cookbook]. (via Amazon; affiliate link)

I am all about the visuals, and this book kills it! Everything looks so stunning and mouthwatering. They take “eat the rainbow” almost quite literally as virtually every dish is full of color.

Don’t worry about being stuck in just winter and fall cuisine, because Nigel Slater has already written a cookbook for spring and summer called: Greenfeast: Spring, Summer. (via Amazon; affiliate link) Slater has written many, many cookbooks and is well known. He is Britain’s foremost food writer and is a trusted source of recipes for simple, beautiful fare.

This is a great opportunity for us to embrace fall and winter flavors and still eat healthy. There are so many foods I overlook, but Greenfeast: Autumn, Winter: [A Cookbook], (via Amazon; affiliate link) gives me an opportunity to get excited again!
