4 New Mouthwatering Japanese Cookbooks Coming Out This Fall

I don’t think there’s anything quite like Japanese home cooking. There are so many fun and tasty recipes out there that everyone can enjoy. I thoroughly enjoy the variety of flavors in Japanese cuisine that can be altered for almost any diet! Take a look at these mouthwatering Japanese cookbooks (affiliate link) that will be ready for your bookshelf this fall!

I made homemade ramen a few weeks ago and it was phenomenal. I’m now convinced I need Ramen for Beginners: Traditional and Modern Recipes Made Simple (via Amazon; affiliate link) Many people don’t know there are hundreds of ways to make ramen (I am guilty of this too.) From toppings to broth – you can have a multitude of strictly ramen dinners.

Making ramen may seem daunting, especially with all the ingredients involved, but this book takes every vital part and simplifies it. Stocking your kitchen with basic ingredients is the only difficult part (which is actually very easy)!

There are some really neat tips and tricks throughout this cookbook that will help on your ramen cooking journey!

The Cook Anime: Eat Like Your Favorite Character―From Bento to Yakisoba (via Amazon; affiliate link) cookbook is number one for Japanese cuisine currently! I would love to gift this to myself or some of my other friends who love anime and Japanese manga for the holidays. If you’re looking for a variety of Japanese recipes, this is a great cookbook.

When peeking through, you can see this cookbook was made with love. The recipes are all very fun and mostly kid friendly. There are techniques and tips trickled throughout on the sidebars of each recipe. They even have a whole section dedicated to what anime each recipe is featured in. Even if you are not someone who watches anime or reads manga, this recipe book is a fantastic introduction to Japanese cuisine!

I adore mochi and will definitely indulge myself and look through Mochi Magic: 50 Traditional and Modern Recipes for the Japanese Treat (via Amazon; affiliate link.) There are 50 mochi recipes to spark the imagination. Making these treats would make my day just a little happier, because they are so cute! Creating little bears or lions looks like an intimidating task, but this cookbook breaks down each part of the mochi design.

There are different methods to cooking mochi, which are all explained in Mochi Magic: 50 Traditional and Modern Recipes for the Japanese Treat (via Amazon; affiliate link.) These would be fun projects for you and the kids as we start heading into the winter season. Serve them up for Christmas or New Years!

Finally I can start assembling delightful bento boxes using Ultimate Bento: Healthy, Delicious and Affordable: 85 Mix-and-Match Bento Box Recipes (via Amazon; affiliate link.) Truly, I’ve attempted but failed half the time. Finding bento specific recipes is bound to help! Bentos are renowned for being cute, but there is a science behind what foods to choose. Picking various colors, shapes, and sizes are all a part of the aesthetic and good for our bellies.

There are 85 mix and match recipes in this cookbook. You won’t go bored with your lunches! Each have unique designs and flavors (not everything is solely Japanese cuisine.) One thing they go over is how what kind of packaging to use and what kind of dividers. I also love how they’ve listed tools we can use to create things like adorable cheese bears or potato snowflakes.

What kind of Japanese recipes are you dying to try? I’m looking forward to filling myself with some more Japanese cookbooks (via Amazon; affiliate link) this year!
