4 New Jewish and Israeli Cookbooks For the Holidays and More!

I have a very good friend whose girlfriend always cooks for us when we get together. She cooked for me the first time I had Jewish food and I really fell in love with it. She’s taken her grandparents recipes and made them her own, like tasty latkes and brisket. They celebrate Christmas and Chanukah both in their house, which was a real treat to join them for a few years ago! I’ve slowly worked Jewish cooking into my repertoire.

Here is a list of fantastic Jewish cookbooks that are coming out this fall and winter 2020.

The one thing my friend has made that I’ve been unable to eat are the baked goods. With The Artisanal Kitchen: Jewish Holiday Baking: Inspired Recipes for Rosh Hashanah, Hanukkah, Purim, Passover, and More (via Amazon; affiliate link) I think I’ll be able to make my own (but I’ll put a gluten-free twist on mine!) There are sweet and savory bakes in this Jewish cookbook!

I’m always curious where my food comes from. Who came up with these amazing recipes and why? Imagine having stories that go along with these recipes. The A Kabbalah of Food: Stories, Teachings, Recipes (via Amazon; affiliate link) will reveal all the secrets. There are Jewish recipes from all over the world and tales to keep you and even the kids entertained as you cook together.

I’m a huge fan of easy recipes and Sababa Secrets and Israel’s Best Recipes provides! My favorite part of this Jewish cookbook is how many vegetable and soup recipes they provide. This would compliment the Jewish baked goods (via Amazon) heavy cookbook. The pictures are lovely as well!

There are so many delightful recipes in Most Pleasing Passover Recipes: A Cookbook of Delicious Seder Dish Ideas More! (via Amazon; affiliate link) This cookbook has a variety of Passover recipes that can be used for breakfast, appetizers, dinner, and dessert. Obviously, they can be made outside of the holiday, like Chanukah!
What are some of your favorite Jewish recipes? I love latkes!
