The cover of Dumplings Equal Love: Delicious Recipes from Around the World (via Amazon; affiliate link) made me salivate. Before these difficult times, I was an avid Din Tai Fung restaurant patron. For those of you who are unfamiliar, it is a delicious Taiwanese restaurant that specializes in dumplings. Freshly steamed and filled with amazing flavors – I’m officially starving! I couldn’t help but check out this cookbook.
I don’t know about you, but the thought of making a dumpling has always been intimidating. Those little pods of tastiness require so much dexterity and finesse I feel like everything always spills out or they aren’t cooked enough. Liz Crain beautifully breaks down the 3 techniques required for making dumplings.
This delightful cookbook covers flavors from East Asia to Eastern Europe to modern renditions in the US. There are 40 recipes in total, plus use your imagination to create even more!
I have to give this book some serious kudos, because they have GLUTEN FREE, VEGAN, and VEGETARIAN options. For those who have any of these dietary issues (raises hand), it is so difficult to find dumplings that we can eat!
Today (October 13th) is my wedding anniversary and I think I’m going to reward myself with this book!
